Friday, July 18, 2008- MVA- Company and Ambulance 01 & M-105 were dispatched to Primos and Glen Ave. for a MVA.  01-2 hit the streets within minutes. PD reduced speed just prior to arrival. Three vehicle accident involving 2 parked cars. Striking vehicle  had rear ended the park cars .No injuries reported.

Crews were on scene approx. 15 minutes for clean up of fluids from accident.

 

 


Tuesday, July 15, 2008- Training (Basic Vehicle Rescue)-  Several members of  the company spent the evening at DCTC going over basic rescue tools and techniques. Some of the newer members of 01 were paired up with 01-9 (Matthews) to get a basic knowledge of the equipment on Rescue 1 while some of the other members were paired up 01-12 (Bendell) to go over alternate methods of extrication in case of Hydraulic tool failure (back up plans). The night was very informative for all.

 

 


Friday, June 27, 2008- Training (Collapse with entrapment)-  Company dispatched for residential rescue, collapse with entrapment. Upon arrival found pt's. legs pinned under 8x10 concrete porch. Crews went to work stabilizing structure and preparing for extrication.  Stabilization and Extrication  took approximately 30 mins. Equipment used : high lift jacks, cribbing, low pressure airbags.  Crews discussed safety and several different methods that could have been used as backup plans. Other training was also done with Demolition Hammer and  (New) Cutters Edge Rotary Saw. Temps. in the low 90's. Thanks to all who participated.  Special Thanks to the Homeowners for allowing us to train on their property.

 

 


Thursday, June 5, 2008- At 01:47 Rescue 1 and Rescue 43 were dispatched to assist Company 05 with a single vehicle MVA versus PECO Pole. Upon arrival both rescue crews went to work removing the roof, when Medics pronounced the driver rescue operations were stopped. All crews remained on-scene until M.E. arrived. After the P.D. investigation crews assisted with victim removal. Crews were on-scene approx. 2 hours.

 

 


Sunday, April 13, 2008- At 07:43 Rescue 1 was dispatched to MacDade Blvd. and Roberta Ave. Collingdale to assist Rescue 42. Single car MVA versus PECO Pole. Upon arrival roof had been removed, Rescue 1 orders were to work the drivers side of vehicle. Crew went in service with Jaws and Cutters. Rescue 42 prepared for front-end push. Patient was treated on scene by Medic 06, care was transferred to PennStar for Transport. Crews were on-scene approx. 60 minutes.

 


Saturday, April 12, 2008- The company was dispatched to the 1800 block of Delmar Dr. for single vehicle MVA verses PECO Pole.  Upon arrival found driver self extricated. Patient was transported by 01-7 w/Medic 105. Company remained on-scene until PECO arrived. Rescue 1 and 01-2 were on-scene approx. 90 minutes.

The Folcroft Fire Company held the 105th Annual Awards banquette at the station hall. Dinner and dancing went on till the wee hours of the morning. The following were presented awards:

   Saturday, October 13, 2007- The Folcroft Fire Company traveled to Upper Chichester, Pa for the annual Delaware County Fireman's Assoc. Convention. The fire company took with them TeleSquirt 01, Rescue 01 and Ambulance 01. The company was one of the first fire companies to arrive to get judge. The members of the company rode in the parade to Reliance Hook and Ladder Company's Firehouse. It was Reliance's 75th anniversary. While the companies waited to see if the won anything the member enjoyed a great time with the other fire companies of the county. Folcroft Fire Company won two trophies for the day. And they were 2nd place Best and Most functional Tele Squirt and 1st place for best appearing Yellow fire truck company. The Folcroft Fire Company would like to thank Bridgeport Fire Company from Gloucester County, NJ. They ran one call for the day and it was a building fire in Sharon Hill's local units were recalled by 09 command.

            


Monday, October 1, 2007- The Officers and Members of Folcroft Fire Co. would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to the family of Michael Reagan and members of the Holmes (Station 43) & Sharon Hill (Station 09) Fire Companies. Firefighter Mike Reagan succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Firefighter Reagan was injured during a collapse while operating at a garage fire on Wednesday evening. He passed a few days later in the hospital. This is a very tragic incident that happened. Please continue to keep all those involved in your prayers. If there is anything that may be needed, don’t hesitate to call.
