The Members of Station 01 would like to thank everyone who stopped by the BBQ sale on Saturday June 6.

Saturday June 6, 2009 - Today was a busy day for Station 01. 1st The members of Station 01 hosted a Chicken & Rib BBQ with a bake sale for desserts. Rescue 1 was on display for the public. Tables were set up for those who wanted to stay and eat and socialize. Fun was had by all. 2nd Telesqurt 1 with 5 under the command 0f 01-9 B (Cook) attended green & white day hosted by Folcroft Boys club. Telesqurt 1 was on display and the members hand out fire prevention materials and smoke alarms. 3rd 01-7 & Utility 01 under the command of 01-12A (Britton) traveled to several locations around the town for EMS Tag Day. Station 01 would like to thank all who donated. Finally around 20:30 the box alarm was struck for 521 Charmont Ave. Folcroft for the building fire. 01-9A on location with oven fire extinquished by PD, Smoke condition. 09-2 and Telesqurt1 ventilated. While on location 01 command notified of second call in town, 01-9A diverted Tower 5 and 09-1 to the second call. Companies were available within 15 minutes.

Saturday May 21, 2009 - At 12:05 Company 1 was dispatched to 1505 Chester Pike for another unique call, within minutes Rescue1 with 6 under the command of 01-9A (Weber) responded, followed by Telesquirt 1 with 4 under the command of 01-9 Matthews. Upon arrival the crew was faced with the task of removing a SUV from under an automatic car wash unit that had got caught on the vehicle and had fallen . Res-Q-Jacks were used to Stabilize and raise the unit off the SUV. The crew removed the vehicle and stabilized the unit until carwash officials could get the unit repaired. The company was in service Approx. 30 mins.

Wednesday February 18, 2009- Vehicle Rescue Demo (Folcroft Union Church)- Rescue 1, Telesqurt 1 &12 Members from Station 01 headed up the street to the Folcroft Union Church to perform a Vehicle Rescue Demo for the boys youth club. The crews split up performing stabilization, door pop, Roof roll-back and Front-end dash displacement. George Kaiser member of Folcroft Union Church & Safety Officer from Station 06 Collingdale explained to the group what was happening as the demo was taking place. Special Thanks to George for his assistance.

Friday February 10, 2009 - At approx. 16:45 the box alarm was struck for 14 N. Ridgeway Ave. Glenolden. Glenolden PD and 01-9A were first on location reporting smoke showing from 1 1/2 story single dwelling. Engine 05 was 1st on location and went in service with an 1 3/4 handline. Engine 09-2 layed in from the hydrant supplying Engine 05. Crews from 05,09 & 01 made a quick knock of the fire and the fire was placed under control within the first 20 min. mark. Units on-scene E05, T05, TS1, R1, E09-2, E09-3, RIT 03, 02-7 & M 100-D. Units were on-scene for approx. 1 hr.

Saturday January 24, 2009 - At 15:42 Rescue 1 and Rescue 43 were dispatched to assist   Glenolden Fire Co. Sta. 05 at Asland Ave & Macdade Blvd. for a Multi-vehicle MVA with Entrapment. Within minutes Rescue1 with 7 & Rescue 43 went responding, upon arrival of both Rescues 05-9A reported 2 patients to be extricated as per EMS. 05-9A assigned Rescue 43 Driver side and Rescue 1 Passenger side. Crews from Engine 5 & Rescue 43 stabilized the vehicle, crew from Rescue 1 covered patients & EMS while crews from Rescue 1 & 43 prepared for a complete roof and rear hatchback removal. The roof assembly was removed and patients extricated with-in the first 20 min. mark. The crews from Engine 5, Rescue 1 & Rescue 43 worked well together for a speedy extrication. Crews were on scene approx. 35 mins.

Friday January 2, 2009 - Staying busy in the NewYear, at 18:40 the box assignment was struck for 234 Clifton Ave. Sharon Hill for the building fire, reported to be in the kitchen. Within minutes Telesqurt 01 with crew of 6 responded followed by Rescue 1, 09-1 was on-scene 1st with burnt food, Companies 01 & 05 were recalled upon arrival. Company 09 stayed to ventilate. At 19:57 the box assignment was struck for S. MacDade Blvd. near South Ave. Glenolden for the building fire, reported to be a dryer at the Laundomat. Within minutes Telesqurt 01 with crew of 5 responded followed by Rescue 1. PD reported light smoke condition, 05-1 went on location 1st reporting fire to be out holding 05-1 and Tower 5 to ventilate building. Compamies 01 & 09 were recalled.

Thursday January 1, 2009 - Busy start to the New Year at approx. 06:00 the box alarm was hit out for 1100 Hook Rd. D.T. Studeven Apartments for the fire alarm 76-9 recalled the assignment no service needed. At 17:00 the box alarm was it out for 24 S. Llanwellyn Ave. Glenolden for the garage fire. PD arrived reporting a working fire. Engine 05 led off with an 1 3/4 handline while Engine 09-2 laid a supply line, the crew from Telesqurt 01 assisted with fire ground operations. Command placed the fire under control around the 1st 20 minute mark crews were on scene approx. 1 hr. Companies on scene 05, 01, 09, RIT 03, M100-D & 02-7.

Tuesday December 23, 2008 - The Folcroft Fire Co. Sta. 01 along with    Glenolden Fire Co. Sta. 05 &Sharon Hill Fire Co. Sta. 09    traveled to the Delaware County Vocational School in Folcroft to take part in a Vehicle Rescue and Helicopter Landing Zone Demonstration as part as a D.U.I. Awareness Program put on by the school. Members from all three companies along with Students in the Emergancy Services class from the school took part in a mock vehicle extrication drill. While cleaning up, Sharon Hill Fire Co. was hit out for the R.I.T. assignment in Leedom, 3 members from Sta. 01 road along for extra man power.
